High temperature tensile deformation in single-pass friction stirred AZ31 alloy

چکیده

The present study has expounded the effect of high temperatures on tensile deformation AZ31 magnesium alloy processed through a single-pass friction stir processing (FSP). major operation parameters, namely rotation speed and traverse FSP tool, were varied which led to extensive dynamic recrystallization (DRX) in zone (SZ) engendering maximum grain refinement about 63% as compared base metal. lowest average size ? 5.66 ?m was attained after single pass. Optical microscopy (OM) followed by uniaxial tests at three different 350, 400 450 ºC constant strain rate 1.3 × 10-3/s. As temperature raised, flow stress reduced appreciable increments material’s elongations. maximal elongation fracture 160% observed (FSPed) sample possessing finest grains.
